Have your referral available, then call to book an appointment!
Our Hampton Roads Oral & Maxillofacial surgery team is here to answer your questions, help you understand the next steps, and find an appointment time that works for you.
Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment?
Yes. Eastern Virginia OMS requires new patients to have a referral from their general dentist or referring provider before an appointment can be scheduled. Patients should have their referral available when contacting the office.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
We ask new patients to bring their completed registration forms, dental and medical insurance cards, photo identification, and a referral from their general dentist or referring provider. If your dentist has taken X-rays, bringing those records can also help prepare the office for your visit.
What should I expect if my procedure involves IV sedation?
If you are scheduled for surgery with sedation, we provide specific pre-operative instructions. Our patient materials state that patients should not eat or drink for at least eight hours beforehand and must have an escort who remains on the premises during the procedure and drives them home. Patients are also instructed to contact the office for their specific pre-operative instructions.
